
The College of Agricultural Sciences at IUBAT—International University of Business Agriculture and Technology—celebrated the Bengali heritage festival Nobanno Utshob 1431 with great enthusiasm on Wednesday November 20, 2024 at the university premises. The event showcased the rich cultural traditions of rural Bengal, with numerous food stalls offering a delightful variety of traditional Pitha items that brought festive charm to the celebration.
The program was graced by Prof. Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin of Bangladesh Agricultural University; Mr. Zahidul Islam, Managing Director of Bayer CropScience Ltd.; and Mr. Atatus Sopan Malik, Managing Director of A R Malik Seeds Pvt Ltd., who attended as Special Guests. Professor Selina Nargis, Treasurer and Director of Administration at IUBAT, was present as the Guest of Honor.
Professor Dr. M. Shohidullah Miah, Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences, and Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Coordinator of the college, along with other faculty members, officers, and students, actively participated in the joyous program.
The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, who emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
The festival concluded with a colorful and traditional cultural gala, leaving the audience mesmerized and further connecting the participants to their cultural roots.
